The fourth edition of the India Today Art Awards also kickstarted The India Story 4.0 at Swabhumi, which was a celebration of all things creative. Here’s a quick look at all those who stood out.
Founders of the hipster label CORD, Neha Singh and Pranav Guglani caught our eye with their versatile and functional yet on trend look. Their design ethos is to “create contemporary classic pieces one can wear across seasons,” says Singh, who struck a pretty picture in an olive shirt dress by CORD. They also showcased antifit body positive dresses in subtle earthy colours like, cinnamon, olive and navy. And their leather accessories included a cool line of shoulder bags and messenger bags.

Dipika Udhani of Ahmedabad-based Addheera.
Ahmedabad-based Addheera by Dipika Udhani’s ‘vacay vibes’ were a big draw. Featuring anti-fit easyto-wear silhouettes in completely natural plant-based dyes, all her are garments are handdyed in shibori style. “No two pieces are alike and these outfits are meant to fade and look worn with time,” says Udhani.

Jajaabor is run by a Delhi-based husband-wife duo and is inspired by their travels. Jajaabor in Bengali means wanderer, and co-founder Neelanjan Ghosh, a NIFT Delhi graduate, stood out in his bomber jacket and pants from their previous collection. Their newest collection brought exclusively for The India Story was inspired from their homestay experience in Iceland.

Ahluwalia showcased her collection Intoku, which was inspired by Japanese pattern making techniques and the abstract art of abstract geometric art of German installation artist Clemens Behr. It was a first time at The India Story for Parama Ghosh who show cased her eponymous label. The former lawyer-turned-designer had a steady stream of shoppers checking out her quirky saree blouses with signature Parama motifs and embroidery.
