Situated amongst the hustle and bustle of Chesterton Road, breakfast and brunch lovers will be able to tap away on their laptops and enjoy a plethora of delicious food and some of the best coffee in town.

From smashed avocado on toast to homemade granola yoghurt, there’s plenty to enjoy.

And if you really like it, you can hop next door to the bakery and grab a cake to take home.

We recommend having a slice of Stir sourdough toast with honey, it’s not very hipster but it tastes so good you won’t care.

Walking into Stir Bakery is like walking into a great big warm hug, the smell alone is enough to get you spending.

Freshly baked breads, pastries, and cakes line glass fronted cabinets and bulky wooden shelves. This is definitely the type of place you’d expect to see Nigella walking around with a basket of freshly cut flowers on her arm.

If you’re popping in we’d recommend trying the cardamom cakes, you might be dubious but they taste amazing.

We’d recommend trying the Portuguese custard tarts, you won’t be sorry.

This swanky new Japanese bakery in Petty Cury is well worth a visit.

With beautiful cakes and sandwiches packed full of goodness, this bakery is perfect if you’re meeting a friend for coffee, or if you just fancy whiling away a few hours.

It’s great if you’re heading home too, you can wander in, to the glass fronted bakery, pick a selection of cakes to-go and Soboro will box them up for you to enjoy on your travels.

We recommend the miniature carrot cake loaves, they are packed full of fruit and nuts and the icing is amazing.

Tom’s Cakes, Mill Road

We couldn’t resist featuring this delicious number in our list. If you’re in the market for a hand-made cake, you’ll be hard pushed to find one better than Tom’s.

Every single cake and biscuit is handmade and baked in small batches in Cambridge, with all the ingredients locally sourced.

There are seasonal treats too including light summer lavender or an autumnal Bramley Apple and cinnamon cakes.

You can also get your hands on homemade quiches, brioche and some of the best cheese scones around.

We recommend trying one of the shop’s hard to resist raspberry eclairs, bursting with cream and summer fruits.

Bread on a bike, Cavendish Road

Perhaps the most hipster bakery in town, this trendy eatery doesn’t have a premises. This is the work of one woman and her bike, delivering delicious freshly baked bread to you every single week.

Bread on a Bike, bakes to order every week, offering a selection of four types of bread which can be collected from the ‘bakery’ on Cavendish Road on Thursdays and Fridays.

Each of the breads are sourdough, which means it is made using a natural leaven and long fermentation methods.

Relevant Records, Mill Road

What could be more hipster than bread on a bike? A café below a record shop of course.

Sitting proudly on the trendiest street in town Relevant Records is a must visit for coffee loving musicians, who can appreciate the artistry of good food.
